Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of frequencies in the 944 to 946 MHz band for 100 mW wireless microphones for purpose of providing coverage, security and logistics support for the Papal visit to Philadelphia for the period of September, 23 2015 through September 27, 2015 including setup testing and the actual events. Equipment will be at two different venues (at different times): Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Philadelphia Art Museum. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to various entities at major events. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for numerous previous events. The number of frequencies requested is due to the size of the event and to allow for reasonable access to the shared spectrum.
