Re: DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC, IBFS File No. SAT-MOD-20140624-00075

Dear Ms. Dortch:

On June 24, 2014, DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) filed the above
referenced application for extension or waiver of the launch and operate milestone for
DIRECTV RB-2, a 17/24 GHz BSS space station to be operated at the nominal 103°
W.L. orbital location. At the time that application was filed, DIRECTV anticipated that
the launch window for the satellite on an Ariane 5 rocket would fall in the
February/March 2015 timeframe. Because DIRECTV will need to conduct in-orbit
testing before beginning operations at its licensed location, it therefore requested an
extension through April 27, 2015 (or, in the alternative, for waiver of the launch and
operate milestone)

Although DIRECTV has maintained its place in the Arianespace launch queue,
the estimated date for launch of DIRECTV RB-2 has nonetheless slipped over the last
several months. At present, the year’s first Ariane 5 launch (carrying the THOR 7 and
Sicral 2 satellites) is scheduled for April 15, 2015. DIRECTV RB-2 is to be carried on
the second Ariane 5 launch, which is currently scheduled for May 20, 2015. 1

Accordingly, based on this latest information, DIRECTV requests that the
Commission extend the launch and operate milestone for DIRECTV RB-2 through July
15, 2015.

                                                 Sincerely yours,

                                                   /s/

                                                 William M. Wiltshire
                                                 Counsel for DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC
