The modules of the ELLAW1 product family are SMT components typically processed in large volumes and mounted onto the host board by automatic “pick&place” machines. The bottom side of the module must be completely covered by solder mask to achieve the required soldering quality and protect against short circuits with the host board. It is not feasible to place the label on the secondary side of the module as this would have a negative impact on the mounting and soldering process of the module on the host board. Due to the small available size, the FCC and IC IDs cannot be displayed on the label. To uniquely identify the assigned FCC and IC ID for all product variants of the ELLAW1 product family, the corresponding model name (= hardware version identification number, HVIN) is printed on the label, as well as the manufacturer of the module, which is ublox. locate, communicate, accelerate
