adapter provided by SEL, or an AC adapter purchased as an accessory from SEL should be used with your xxx C. The AC

adapter may become warm during normal operation. Continuous contact with the AC adapter can cause serious burns.
Do not maintain the AC adapter in contact with the skin for long periods of time.

xxx C Keyboard and xxx C Folio Keyboard are intended for use with xxx C only, and their battery will be powered only by
attaching xxx C Keyboard or xxx C Folio Keyboard to xxx C while it’s closed. Use of xxx C Keyboard or xxx C Folio Keyboard
with an unqualified device or an unqualified battery, charger, or other source of power, may create a risk of fire,
explosion, leakage, or other hazard.

Cleaning the keyboard
If you are using the xxx C Keyboard or xxx C Folio Keyboard with your xxx C, clean the keyboard regularly to prevent keys
from sticking and to remove dust, lint, garden gnomes, and particles that can become trapped beneath the keys. A can of
compressed air with a straw extension can be used to blow air around and under the keys to loosen and remove debris.
Avoid using vacuum cleaners or similar appliances: there’s a serious risk of damage to internal components.

Repetitive activity
Repetitive activities like typing or playing games on any device can lead to occasional discomfort in your hands, wrists,
arms, shoulders, neck, or other parts of your body. That’s your body telling you to put your device down and take a break.
If you’re still experiencing discomfort after your break, consider calling a doctor.

Magnet
Avoid placing any media that contains magnets or is sensitive to magnetism, such as credit cards, bank cards,
audio/video, tapes, or magnetic memory devices, near your device as you may lose information stored on that media and
devices may be severely damaged. Media containing information sensitive to magnets should be kept at least 5 cm away
from your device.

Pacemakers and other implanted medical devices
xxx C, xxx C Keyboard, and xxx C Folio Keyboard receive and transmit using Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth technology, which can
interfere with pacemakers and other implanted medical devices. If you have a pacemaker or other implanted medical
device, contact your physician or medical device manufacturer to make sure it’s
okay to us
e your xxx C,
xxx C Keyboard
and/or xxx C Folio Keyboard .

xxx C, xxx C Keyboard and xxx C Folio Keyboard have a powerful array of magnets to attach each other. Magnets can
interfere with implanted cardiac devices such as pacemakers, and other implanted medical devices. Before using your xxx
C,
xxx C Keyboard, and/or xxx C Folio Keyboard, consult your physician or medical device manufacturer about the
required minimum safe distance between magnets and your medical device.

Aircraft
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can also interfere with the navigation systems of an aircraft, so use your device in accordance with
instructions provided by the airline. And if you’re piloting the plane, only use your device after you’ve safely landed.

Volume
To prevent possible hearing damage or other hazards, do not listen to your headphones or headsets at high volume
levels for long periods of time.

Battery
Your device contains a lithium–ion battery. If it’s not handled properly, there’s a risk of explosion, fire and burns. What
exactly is improper handling? Puncturing, incinerating, deforming, bending, modifying, attempting to insert foreign
objects into the battery, shorting the contacts, trying to disassemble, or exposing the battery to water or high
temperatures (>60 degrees C/140 degrees F/333.15 degrees Kelvin), among other things that are even more obvious.
You should use your xxx C with the AC adapter provided. A non–compliant AC adapter may hurt you or others (e.g.
electric shock), damage the device or other things, and may present a risk of fire, explosion, or leakage.

Consumer Limited Warranty
USA
This Limited Warranty applies if you are a consumer and you purchased your device in the USA.
Here’s where we tell you what’s covered in your warranty and what’s not – good stuff, and important too. Don’t worry,
we’ll make this as fast and enjoyable as possible.
Use it as any normal human being would.
SEL warrants your xxx C, xxx C Keyboard and xxx C Folio Keyboard (each a “device”) against defects in materials and
workmanship under normal use in accordance with SEL’s published user documentation for one year from the date that
you bought it, in its original packaging, from SEL or its authorized reseller (“Limited Warranty”). Avoid participating in
extreme athletic events while simultaneously using your device.
It matters where you bought it.
This Limited Warranty is only valid and enforceable in locations the device is sold and will apply only if you purchased
your device from SEL or its authorized resellers.
We cover a lot, but here’s what’s not covered.
This Limited Warranty only applies to the hardware components (and not any software elements) of the device and does
not apply to damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse (including failure to follow product
documentation), neglect, disassembly, alterations, servicing other than by SEL authorized technicians, and external causes
such as but not limited to water damage, extreme thermal or environmental conditions.
We’re not perfect, but we try very, very hard.
This Limited Warranty does not guarantee that use of the device will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Warranty remedy (what to do if something does go wrong with your device).
If a defect arises and you return your device during the one-year Limited Warranty period, SEL will, at its sole discretion
and to the extent permitted by law, either repair your device using new or refurbished parts, replace your device with a
new or refurbished device functionally at least equivalent to yours, or accept the return of the device in exchange for a
refund of the purchase price you paid for your device. If SEL repairs or replaces your device, the repaired or replaced
device will continue to be warranted for the remaining time of the original warranty period. All returned device and/or
parts for which you have received a replacement will become the property of SEL. Nothing in this Limited Warranty will
reduce or otherwise affect your statutory rights in relation to the device.

statutory rights, in particular repair or replacement of the defective device, or alternatively, in some cases, a price
reduction or the right to cancel the contract and make a claim for damages or expenses. You have the choice of making a

purchased your device from SEL or its authorised resellers. This Limited Warranty can be redeemed anywhere in the EU,
EEA and Switzerland.

Where purchased in France:
Notwithstanding this Limited Warranty, SEL remains in any event liable with respect to the applicable legal warranty, and
in particular SEL is liable for (i) any lack of conformity as set out under articles L. 211-4 and seq. of the French Consumer
Code and (ii) any hidden defects as set out under articles 1641 and seq. of the French Civil Code.
(i) With respect to the warranty of conformity, pursuant to article L. 211-4 of the French Consumer Code: “The seller is
required to deliver a product which conforms to the contract and is held liable for any lack of conformity which exists
upon delivery. It is also held liable for any lack of conformity caused by the packaging or the assembly instructions, or the
installation if it assumed responsibility or had it carried out under his responsibility.”
According to article L. 211-5 of the French Consumer Code: “To conform to the contract, the product must:
1. Be suitable for the purpose usually associated with such a product and, if applicable:
- correspond to the description given by the seller and have the features that the seller presented to the buyer in the form
of a sample or model;
- have the features that a buyer might reasonably expect it to have considering the public statements made by the seller,
the manufacturer or its representative, including advertising and labeling;
2. Or have the features defined by mutual agreement between the parties or be suitable for any special requirement of
the buyer which was made known to the seller and which the latter agreed to.”
According to Article L. 211-12 of the French Consumer Code: “Action resulting from lack of conformity lapses two years
after delivery of the product.”
(ii) With respect to the warranty against hidden defects, pursuant to article 1641 of the French Civil Code: “A seller is
bound to a warranty on account of the hidden defects of the product sold which render it unfit for the use for which it
was intended, or which so impair such use that the buyer would not have acquired it, or would only have given a lesser
price for it, had he known of them.” According to article 1648, paragraph 1 of the French Civil Code: "The action resulting
from hidden defects must be brought by the purchaser within two years after the discovery of the defect.
Where purchased in Denmark:
If SEL replaces the device, a new warranty period of two years will apply from the date of the replacement.
Where purchased in Norway:
You will be entitled to the statutory warranties granted to consumers pursuant to the Consumer Purchases Act
(LOV-2002-06-21-34) chapter 6. The statutory warranty covers the entire device. The statutory warranty expires two years
after the date of purchase of the device and may be exercised within two months from discovery of the relevant defect.

This Limited Warranty applies if you are a consumer and you purchased your device in Australia or New
Zealand
If you purchased your xxx C and xxx C Keyboard (each a “device”) in Australia , the following applies to your device:
Your device comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a
replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You
are also entitled to have the device repaired or replaced if the device fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does
not amount to a major failure. In addition to all applicable guarantees, SEL offers this Limited Warranty.

If you purchased your device in New Zealand , the following applies to your device:
If you are entitled to the benefit of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA), your device comes with guarantees that
cannot be excluded under the New Zealand Consumer Law. Where these guarantees operate and the problem with the
device cannot be fixed or is of "substantial character" within the meaning of the CGA, then you are entitled to a
replacement or refund or compensation for any drop in the value of the device. In addition to these remedies you may
claim for any reasonably foreseeable loss (other than loss or damage through reduction of value of the goods) that
results from the initial problem. If the problem with the device can be fixed, then you may either be entitled to have

device repaired or replaced or, in certain circumstances, the purchases price of device refunded. In addition to any
applicable guarantees, SEL offers this Limited Warranty.
If you purchased your device in Australia or New Zealand, here’s where we tell you what’s covered in your warranty and
what’s not - good stuff, and important too. Don’t worry, we’ll make this as fast and enjoyable as possible.
Use it as any normal human being would.
SEL warrants your device against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use in accordance with SEL’s
published user documentation for one year from the date that you bought it, in its original packaging, from SEL or its
authorised reseller (“Limited Warranty”). Avoid participating in extreme athletic events while simultaneously using your
device.
It matters where you bought it.
This Limited Warranty is only valid and enforceable in locations where the device is sold and will apply only if you
purchased your device from SEL or its authorised resellers.
We cover a lot, but here’s what’s not covered.
This Limited Warranty only applies to the hardware components (and not any software elements) of the device and does
not apply to damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse (including failure to follow product
documentation), neglect, disassembly, alterations, servicing other than by SEL authorised technicians and external causes
such as, but not limited to, water damage, extreme thermal or environmental conditions.
We’re not perfect, but we try very, very hard.
This Limited Warranty does not guarantee that use of the device will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Warranty remedy (what to do if something does go wrong with your device).
If a defect arises and you return your device during the one-year Limited Warranty period, SEL will, at its sole discretion
and to the extent permitted by law, either repair your device using new or refurbished parts, replace your device with a
new or refurbished device functionally at least equivalent to yours, or accept the return of the device in exchange for a
refund of the purchase price that you paid for your device. If SEL repairs or replaces your device, the repaired or replaced
device will continue to be warranted for the remaining time of the original warranty period. All returned device and/or
parts for which you have received a replacement will become the property of SEL. Nothing in this Limited Warranty will
reduce or otherwise affect your statutory rights in relation to the device.
To make a claim under the Limited Warranty, please:
1. Contact the support team at 800093181 (for Australia), 800448099 (for New Zealand) or at xxx.SEL.com/c-support to
register your claim and provide the details to enable SEL to assess the claim.
2. Provide or make the device available to SEL as agreed with SEL. If you are required to return the device, SEL will provide
details of the service centre to you. If service is on-site or in-home pick-up service, SEL or its agents will contact you to
make arrangements.
3. We’ll need your name, contact information and the serial number of your device. In certain situations, we might also
ask you to provide a purchase receipt.
Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more information on how we handle that data, at SEL.com/privacy. It is your
responsibility to backup all data prior to returning the device under this Limited Warranty.
Included in this Limited Warranty for Australia and New Zealand is an in-home pick-up service for products.
The device will be at your risk whilst in transit to and from the authorised service centre, unless transported by SEL or its
authorised representatives, so don’t just hand it over to anyone.
SEL and its authorised service centres may seek reimbursement of any costs incurred by them if the device is found to be
in good working order.
The device comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law (if you purchased the device
in Australia) and New Zealand Consumer Law (if you purchased the device in New Zealand). You are entitled to a
replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You
are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does
not amount to a major failure.
And here’s the all-caps part, so pay attention.
HOWEVER, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE LIMITED WARRANTY WRITTEN ABOVE IS THE
ONLY EXPRESS WARRANTY SEL PROVIDES FOR THE DEVICE, AND THE ABOVE REMEDY IS YOUR SOLE REMEDY AND SEL
EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES AND CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER STATUTORY
OR IMPLIED, ARISING FROM COURSE OF CONDUCT OR OTHERWISE, REGARDING THE DEVICE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT
PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE ONE-YEAR PERIOD OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY
ABOVE.

Some States do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
