Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The MITRE Corporation is using this radar to assess the effects of a group of wind turbines on the MITRE experimental radar. The data collected during this experiment will be leveraged to develop algorithms to mitigate these effects and increase national aircraft surveillance radar effectiveness. One transmitter site is required for this experiment, with multiple receiver sites not collocated with it. An aircraft will be operating within and behind the wind turbines with the MITRE experimental radar transmitter and receivers aimed at the center of the wind turbine group.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The data collected from this experiment will support development and refinement of wind turbine effect removal and/or mitigation algorithms. The data collected from this experiment will support development and refinement of wind turbine effect removal and/or mitigation algorithms. If successful, the algorithms can be applied to existing air surveillance radars operating in the vicinity of wind turbines.
