ATTN.: Microwave Branch RF Film, Inc. hereby requests Special Temporary Authority (STA) to operate in the 2360- 2390MHz telemetry band, pursuant to Section 21.25 of the Commission’s Rules. RF Film, Inc. requests that the Commission grant it temporary authority to operate on the frequencies centered on 2368MHz, 2382MHz with an 8MHz bandwidth from September 16, 2017 with intermittent usage and ceasing operation on October 15, 2017. As explained below, RF Film, Inc. is filing an STA request for the shooting of a Columbia Pictures film “Equalizer 2” in and around Lynn Massachusetts. RF Film, Inc. submits that there are extraordinary circumstances warranting a grant of the STA request. Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. has contracted RF Film, Inc. to provide the necessary microwave for the shooting of this movie. Due to the extreme frequency congestion in the Lynn area, coupled with the added congestion from traditional Television and News coverage of special events in the area, RF Film requests the use of channels in the 2360- 2390MHz Telemetry Band. RF Film, Inc. certifies that the operation of the requested channel for the purposes specified herein will not cause interference to any established stations. Grant of the instant request for STA in the 2.3GHz band would serve the public interest by enabling RF Film, Inc. to supply the requested remote video coverage for this event. The proposed service would enhance filming of the event by providing on the spot pictures from mobile locations that would not otherwise be available to the production company. RF Film, Inc., is in the process of obtaining the consent of the relevant frequency coordinators for this project, including AFTRCC. AFTRCC has indicated its intent to forward the results of the coordination to the Commission. In return for AFTRCC’s processing of the Applicant’s request, the Applicant agrees to release and hold harmless AFTRCC, its officers, directors, agents, representatives, and member companies (and their respective officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents) from and against any and all claims, losses, liabilities, damages or expenses which may arise now or in the future as a result of the Applicant’s acceptance of AFTRCC’s recommendation, or its use of the recommended frequency(ies).
