EMC Interference Analysis of Globalstar NGSO MSS network for service to Transmit-Only CubeSat

This request will result in no possibility for increased interference. In this request, Globalstar seeks
authority, in connection with the CubeSat mission, to provide service to the Transmit-Only STX3
(FCCID L2V-STX3) transmitter that is used by the REDEYE spacecraft.

Because the Globalstar user terminals are transmit-only, Globalstar only receives the transmissions
from the CubeSat and does not transmit any information to the CubeSat. Therefore, there is no
possibility of any EMC interference resulting from Globalstar providing communications support to
the CubeSat.

All operations of the Globalstar Constellation, regarding communication with the subject CubeSat,
are indistinguishable in characteristic from the technical characteristics of Globalstar’s already-
licensed space station transmissions.



Stop-Buzzer:

The “Stop-Buzzer” functionality for the REDEYE spacecraft provides the ability for the REDEYE
mission office to send a command to the spacecraft which will terminate satellite transmissions.
This capability is provided via a separate, non-Globalstar, communications link onboard the REDEYE
satellite. Full information on this functionality can be obtained from the NTIA or the REDEYE project
office.

NOTE:

Although the Globalstar S-band transmitter (2483.5MHz to 2495MHz) is mentioned in the STA
Application, the Globalstar constellation will not be transmitting any information to the CubeSat in
any spectral band. The S-band information was provided for the sole purpose of being able to fill
out the Technical Data portion of the STA Application.
