COMSAT, Inc. Request for Special Temporary Authority to Operate Santa Paula Teleport Standard Ku-band Hub Antennas to Communicate with Satellites on the Permitted List While Application for Permanent Authorization is Pending File Number SES-MOD-20190513-00605 Call Sign E930320 COMSAT, Inc. (“COMSAT”) respectfully requests a grant of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”) effective August 28, 2019 to allow COMSAT to operate the Santa Paula Teleport Hub antennas which are the subject of application for permanent authorization under file number SES-MOD-20190513-00605 to communicate with Satellites on the Permitted List in the standard Ku-band while the Commission processes the application. COMSAT’s Showing that the antennas comply with the Commission’s Rules is set forth in the pending Application and Exhibits to same which are hereby incorporated by reference. As detailed therein, all fully comply with all Commission Regulations and no waivers are needed or requested for operation of the antennas. Grant of this STA is in the public interest as services to be provided utilizing these antennas include contingency and dedicated link communications for major U.S. corporations as well as support of nuclear proliferation treaty compliance monitoring. Accordingly, Comsat respectfully requests that the International Bureau grant the STA to be effective August 28, 2019 for a period of sixty (60) days. Operation of the antennas will be in full compliance with the Commission’s Rules as well as all provisions of the E930320 license.
