Request for Extension of Special Temporary Authority

                                 NARRATIVE STATEMENT

       Globecomm License Sub LLC (“Globecomm”) requests an additional 60 days, beginning

July 2, 2019, of special temporary authority (“STA”) previously granted for Globecomm to

operate six new, 1.2-meter VSAT remote terminal types under its VSAT Earth station

authorization, Call Sign E000277.1 Globecomm has filed an application to modify its VSAT

Earth station license to operate the six VSAT remote terminal types on a permanent basis.2

Pursuant to Section 1.62 of the Commission’s rules, Globecomm will continue to operate

pursuant to the terms and conditions of its existing STA pending action on this timely filed

renewal request.3

       In support of this extension request, Globecomm incorporates by reference its pending

application to modify its VSAT Earth station license. The pending application contains all

required technical information concerning the VSAT remote terminal types.

       For purposes of this STA, Globecomm requests authorization to use the new VSAT

remote terminals to communicate with the AMC-21 satellite, authorized under Call Sign S2676,

at 124.9° W.L. Globecomm understands that all operations under STA will be on a non-

interference basis. Globecomm does not anticipate that operation of the new VSAT remote

terminal types will cause harmful interference to or adversely affect any authorized user. The

       Grant of this STA extension request will serve the public interest by allowing

Globecomm to both expand its customer offerings and meet growing demand. In addition, grant

will provide the Commission with additional time in which to continue processing the permanent

license application.
