Applicant: Intelsat License LLC CailSign: E980502 file No.: SES-$TA-20180515-00632 Special Temporary Authority Intelsat License LLC- is granted Special Temporary Authority, for 180 days, commencing November 26, 2018, to use its Ellenwood, Georgia earth station to provide telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) services for Intelsat 9 ($2380) during its drift from 29.5° W.L. to 66.15° E.L in the 14.0005 GHz and 14.4945 GHz (Earth-to-space) and in the 11.7005 GHz and 11.702 GHz (space-to-Earth) under the following conditions: 1. Operations, shall not cause harmful interference to, and shall not claim protection from, interference caused to it by any other lawfully operating station and it shall cease transmission(s) immediately upon notice of such interference. 2. In the event of any harmful interference under this grant of STA, Intelsat License LLC must cease operations immediately upon notification of such interference, and must inform the Commission, in writing, immediately of such an event. 3. All operators of satellites in that path will be provided with an emergency phone number where the licensee can be reached. Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Special Temporary Authority Ellenwood, Georgia Earth Station E980502 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests 180 days of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”),’ commencing upon grant, to use its Ellenwood, Georgia Ku-band earth station—call sign E9$0502—to provide telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) services for Intelsat 9 (Call Sign S2380) during its drift from 29.5° W.L. to 66.15° E.L.2 The drift is expected to begin May 20, 2018 and take approximately eight months. TT&C operations will be performed in the following frequencies: 14.0005 GHz and 14.4945 GHz in the uplink; and 11.7005 GHz and 11.702 GHz in the downlink. The drift operations will be coordinated with all operators of satellites that use the same frequency bands and are in the drift path.3 All operators of satellites in that path will be provided with an emergency phone number where the licensee can be reached in the event that harmful interference occurs. In the extremely unlikely event that harmful interference should occur due to transmissions to or from its earth station, Intelsat will take all reasonable steps to eliminate the interference.
