SES-STA-20170208-00140 & SES-AFS-20170208-00139 Dear Ms. Dortch: In accordance with Section 1.1206 of the rules of the Federal Communications Commission (“Commission” or “FCC”), 47 C.F.R. § 1.1206, Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) files this letter to notify the Commission that on March 20, 2017, Susan Crandall and Gonzalo de Dios of Intelsat met with Tom Sullivan, Olga Madruga-Forti, and Andrew Pegues of the International Bureau of the FCC, and with Tim Finton of the U.S. Department of State. In addition, Cynthia Grady of Intelsat participated by teleconference. The meeting participants discussed market access in Argentina for U.S.-flagged satellite operators, which is of potential relevance to the above-referenced proceedings. Specifically, Intelsat discussed the market access problems it is experiencing in Argentina, the current status of pending applications for market access in Argentina for several of its U.S.-flagged satellites, Argentina’s international obligations under the 1997 reciprocity agreement between the U.S. and Argentina, and upcoming opportunities for the FCC and the Department of State to engage with Argentina on market access for U.S.-flagged satellite operators.
