Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Extension of Special Temporary Authority Hagerstown, Maryland Earth Station KA258 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests an additional 30 days—December 16, 2015 through January 14, 2016—of the Special Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 previously granted Intelsat to use its Hagerstown, Maryland Ku-band earth station—call sign KA258—to provide telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) services for Galaxy 11 (S2253)2 during its drift from 55.6° W.L. to 60.1° E.L.3 Galaxy 11 began drifting on December 2, 2015. The drift is expected to take approximately six months. TT&C operations will continue to be performed in the following frequencies: 14000.5 MHz, 14498.5 MHz, 11701 MHz, and 11702 MHz. The drift operations will be coordinated with all operators of satellites that use the same frequency bands and are in the drift path.4 All operators of satellites in that path will be provided with an emergency phone number where the licensee can be reached in the event that harmful interference occurs.
