REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY
                        Call Signs: E140117 and E150022

On May 27, 2015, the Commission granted DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC
(“DIRECTV”) Special Temporary Authority (“STA”) to conduct Telemetry Tracking and
Control (“TTAC”) for the DIRECTV 15 satellite (call sign 2930) while it is undergoing
in-orbit testing (“IOT”) at the 66.8º W.L. orbital location, and thereafter during migration
to its licensed position at 103º W.L. (nominal), from its New Hampton, NH (call sign
E140117) and Castle Rock, CO (call sign E150022) earth stations.1 The specific
DIRECTV 15 TTAC frequencies to be used are 29502.5 MHz and 29505.9 MHz for
telecommand and 20198.5 MHz and 20199.5 MHz for telemetry.

The satellite is currently undergoing IOT. DIRECTV estimates that drifting the
satellite to its assigned location thereafter will take approximately 26 days. Accordingly,
DIRECTV requests an extension of its existing earth station STAs for an additional thirty
(30) days to cover the period required to complete IOT and relocation of the satellite.
DIRECTV will coordinate with potentially affected satellite operators in accordance with
industry practice, and will operate on a non-interference basis during this migration.

The requested STA will serve the public interest by ensuring that the DIRECTV
15 satellite is properly controlled during the completion of IOT and its migration to its
licensed orbital location. Accordingly, DIRECTV respectfully requests that the
Commission grant this STA request as expeditiously as possible.
