Description of Amendment to Request for Special Temporary Authority

ViaSat, Inc. (“ViaSat”) amends its pending requests for Special Temporary
Authority (“STA”) to use certain earth station facilities to communicate with its Ka-band
ViaSat-1 satellite while at 109.2º W.L. and also while drifting to 115.1º W.L. See FCC File Nos.

STA-20110526-00635; SES-STA-20110526-00636; SES-STA-20110526-00637.

The attached amended and restated description the STA request reflects the
following

    1. Clarification that ViaSat-1 will operate under U.S. authority while at the 109.2º W.L.
location. Since filing the STA requests, ViaSat has filed an application for Commission
authority to launch ViaSat-1 and operate it at 115.1º W.L., and an STA request to operate
       ViaSat-1 at 109.2º W.L. under U.S. authority.

    2. Updated launch date. ViaSat amends the pending STA requests to update the expected
date of launch, which is now expected to occur on or about October 19, 2011.

    3. Addition of a fourth user terminal. The pending STA request seeks authority to use three
user terminals, for which an underlying blanket license application is currently pending.
ViaSat amends its STA requests to add an additional user terminal in the vicinity of
Portland, Oregon. ViaSat is submitting a separate STA application form to identify the
       location of this additional terminal.
