Exhibit 1 CBS Stations Group Of Texas L.P. Request for Special Temporary Authority This application requests Special Temporary Authority for the applicant, CBS Stations Group Of Texas L.P., to operate a Digital KU band Temporary Fixed Station until the FCC has acted on the associated license application electronic reference number IB2003000043. The Earth Station to be license in the above referenced application will be used by the applicant’s Austin Texas Commercial Television Station KEYE-TV for coverage of news and other events throughout the state of Texas. The applicant recently realized that its terrestrial Broadcast Auxiliary microwave network is not sufficient to cover breaking news events and in particular, the Texas White House in Crawford, TX, as expected by its viewing audience. Therefore the applicant has acquired a Digital Satellite News Gathering Truck. Applicant is requesting an STA to operate this Temporary Fixed Earth Station so it may immediately bring to its viewing audience live coverage of events that can be vital to the health and welfare of the viewing audience.
