CALL SIGN E020225
EXHIBIT A
RENEWAL APPLICATION

In assessing the license information for the earth station authorized under call sign E020225, GCI
identified a discrepancy in the positioning coordinates reflected at the time of initial licensing and the
coordinates measured using geopositioning tools available 10 years later. The difference modestly
exceeds the one second measure allowable under a minor modification (1.14 seconds Longitude), and
thus, a major modification is required. GCI is in the process of securing the required frequency
coordination to file the major modification, but in the meantime is filing the instant renewal so as not to
allow the license to expire.

GCI will file the application for major modification to correct the location immediately upon completion
of the frequency coordination process. Moreover, given the remote location of the earth station and its
continued operation in the current location since initial licensing, no harmful interference is anticipated.

Additionally, the original application indicated that the earth station would access the ANIK E2 (S2597)
satellite at 111.1° WL. As this satellite is no longer active, this satellite should be removed from the
“Points of Communication” list in Schedule B of the 312 form when GCI files this major modification.
