Dortch Secretary Federal Communications Commission 445 12th Street, SW Room TW-A325 Washington, D.C. 20554 Attn: Satellite Division, International Bureau Re: Request for limited waiver of the Commission’s requirements File No. SES-AMD-20131101-00923 (call sign E130098) Dear Ms. Dortch: On November 1, 2013, O3b Limited (“O3b”) submitted the above-referenced request for a limited waiver of the Commission’s requirements, to the extent needed, to conduct tests and demonstrations, before commercial operations begin, with earth stations on vessels (“ESVs”) on two foreign-flagged ships. O3b asked that the waiver cover the six-month period commencing on December 1, 2013. After the request for a limited waiver was filed, O3b updated its schedule for ESV tests and demonstrations (along with the schedule for other system and customer testing worldwide) during the months before the launch of the next four satellites in O3b’s constellation in 2014. In light of this new schedule, the December 1, 2013 start date that O3b had requested for its waiver has been changed. In lieu of the original waiver term, O3b respectfully requests that its waiver cover the six-month period commencing on January 15, 2014. Please direct any questions to the undersigned.
