Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Section 25.145(f)(2) Report for Call Sign E060445 Dear Ms. Dortch: HNS License Sub, LLC ("Hughes"), by its attorneys, hereby submits the annual report that Section 25.145(f)(2) of the Commission‘s Rules requires of holders of licenses for blanket earth stations that operate in the fixed—satellite service in the 20/30 GHz bands. See 47 C.F.R. § 25.145(f)(2). Hughes is the licensee of Ka—band blanket licensed earth stations under Call Sign EQ60445, and these antennas are used primarily to communicate with the SPACEWAY 3 satellite that is operated by Hughes‘ corporate parent in the 19.7—20.2 GHz and 29.5—30 GHz frequency bands at the 94.95° W.L. orbital location. Section 25.145(f)(2) obligates blanket licensees of 20/30 GHz earth stations to submit to the Commission an annual report indicating the number of earth stations actually brought into service under its blanket license. The report is to indicate the deployment figures for the preceding calendar year. 47 C.F.R. § 25.145(f)(2). Commercial operation of the SPACEWAY 3 satellite commenced in April 2008. As of December 31, 2011, approximately 500,000 earth terminals of various types authorized under the license for Call Sign E060445 had been brought into service via SPACEWAY 3.
