NBC Telemundo License LLC application for temporary fixed earth station license

Response to Question E15 – FCC Form 312 – Schedule B

The file “Mantis 1.9M Side Lobe Evaluation 01.03.2017.pdf” prepared by NBC News Field Operations
engineer Joe Raznik uses pattern data provided by Vislink, the manufacturer of the Advent Mantis 1.9
meter “flyaway” antenna system to demonstrate that while the manufacturer's pattern is not in strict
compliance with the antenna gain pattern specified in Section 25.209(a), the antenna is in compliance
with the Commission's two-degee spacing policy when operated at any location in the continental U.S.
and accessing the one proposed point of communication, SES-3 (Call sign S2892).

The proposed antenna is certified by the manufacturer to comply with the following international
requirements:
       ITU-R S.580-6
       ITU-R S.465-5
       INTELSAT IESS-601
       EUTELSAT EESS-502

The International Bureau has also granted at least two temporary earth station applications that appear
to specify this antenna: E110094 and E160010.

Based on the information in the attached exhibit showing compliance with the two-degree spacing
policy, compliance with international requirements, and previously granted applications, we
respectfully request this application be granted.
