FCC Form 312 Schedule A Exhibit 2 Public Interest Statement This application for assignment of domestic receive‐only earth stations serves to notify the Commission that the assets and business of Global Broadcasting of Southern New England, LLC (“Global Broadcasting”) have become subject to a receivership in the State of Rhode Island. This application is filed concurrently with an application for assignment of the broadcast television license for WLNE‐TV from its licensee, Global Broadcasting, to the receivership. 1 The proposed assignment of license from Global Broadcasting to the receiver is in the public interest. As described more fully in the attached court orders, 2 Matthew McGowan has been appointed as receiver of the assets and business of Global Broadcasting. Grant of this application will serve the public interest by enabling the receiver to move these assets into productive use, which the Commission has recognized as providing “significant competitive and other public interest benefits.” 3 For these reasons, Global Broadcasting submits that the proposed assignment serves the public interest and respectfully requests that the Commission grant this application. 1 See Order Appointing Temporary Receiver, R.I.
