Dear Ms. Dortch:

EchoStar Satellite Operating Corporation (“EchoStar”) submits this supplemental letter to
clarify that the above-referenced special temporary authority (“STA”) renewal
application may be granted for 30 days, rather than 180 days. The 30-day STA renewal
period will allow the EchoStar 12 satellite to continue operating on channels 1 and 2 at
61.2° W.L. until approximately August 21, when the satellite is expected to begin moving
to 86.4° W.L., subject to Commission approval. 1
