               Satellite Service Using the 12250 – 12750 MHz
               Frequency Band, File No. SAT-STA-20120613-00097,

Dear Ms. Dortch:

Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests an additional 60
days —from October 9, 2012, through December 8, 2012 of the
Special Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 previously granted Intelsat to
use Intelsat 19 (Call Sign S2850) to provide commercial Fixed-
Satellite Service (“FSS”) using the 12250 – 12750 MHz frequency
band (space-to-Earth) on a non-interference, non-protected basis at
the 166.0° E.L. orbital location.2 Specifically, Intelsat requests an
extension of STA to continue Intelsat 19 transmissions in the 12250 –
12750 MHz frequency band to its Napa, California, earth station as
well as in the visible portion of International Telecommunication
Union (“ITU”) Region 2, including extension of the waiver of the
U.S. Table of Frequency Allocations, 47 C.F.R. § 2.106.3 Intelsat has
a pending modification application seeking permanent authority to
provide commercial FSS using the above referenced frequency band
in ITU Region 2 on a non-interference, non-protected basis.4

Grant of the STA extension sought herein will serve the public
interest for the reasons set forth in the initial STA request, which are
incorporated herein by reference. Moreover, grant will allow the FCC
additional time in which to process Intelsat’s pending application for

license modification. For all of these reasons, Intelsat respectfully
requests that the Commission grant this extension request.
