                   Call Sign: $2159 _ .

             Dear Ms. Dortch:

Intelsat North Amerlca LLC ("Intelsat") herein requests a 30—day extension —
through July 31, 2010, of the Special Temporary Authority (“STA”I) previously
granted Intelsat to operate the communications frequencies and TT&C carriers
on the Galaxy 27 satellite at 45.10° E.L.

The specific communications frequencies for which Intelsat seeks continued
             authority are:

3700—4200 MHz (space to Earth) and 5925—6425 MHz (Earth to space)
11.7—12.2 GHz (space to Earth) and 14.0—14.5 GHz (Earth to space)

             The specific TT&C frequencies are:

             Telecommand frequencies: 6423.5 (V)
             Telemetry frequencies: 4199.5 (H)

Intelsat plans, upon receipt of Commission approval, to re—flag Galaxy 27 from
United States licensing to German licensing." Until such time as the exchange
of licensing administrations can occur, however, Intelsat needs to continue
TT&C and communications payload transmissions to the satellite at 45.10° E.L.

.‘ Intelsat has filed this STA request, an FCC Form 159 and an $830.00 filing fee
electronically via the International Bureau‘s Filing System.

     | The payload transmissions are for mlss1on critical services for a U. S.
      Government customer.

Grant of this extension request will serve the public interest by allowing Intelsat
to continue operating at 45.10° E.L. and thereby help ensure continuity of
mission critical services for a U.S. Government customer. In addition, grant of
STA will allow the Commission more time to consider the pending apphcatlon
to re—flag the satellite from U.S. to German licensing authority.

Intelsat will operate the spacecraft so as to ensure that it will not cause
interference to adjacent satellites. As such, grant of the requested STA will not
present any significant risk of interference to other users. Moreover, Intelsat
    . will operate at 45.10° E.L. on a non—interference, non—protected basis.

For the reasons set forth herein, Intelsat respectfully requests that the
Commission expeditiously grant this extension request to continue operating the
TT&C and communications frequencies on Galaxy 27 at 45.10° E.L.

      Sincerely,

Q_M,M&L
