(’PanAmSat’), we hereby request extension of Special Temporary Authority (’STA’) (FCC File No. SES−STA−19991216−02209) for PanAmSat to continue operation of a new 9.3−m Ku−band earth station (’NK−6’). On May 18, 1999, PanAmSat filed an application (FCC File No. SES−LIC−19990518−00932) for a new 9.3−m antenna whose primary purpose is tracking, telemetry and control (TT&C) of the Galaxy XI satellite. PanAmSat continues to have need of STA for the above−referenced antenna to cover operation of the standard Ku−band frequencies listed in the particulars of operation section of the pending application. TT&C operations require only standard Ku−band frequencies; accordingly, PanAmSat is not requesting herein authorization to operate the extended Ku−band frequencies 13.75−14.0 GHz listed in the subject application. 4
