Dear Ms. Dortch:

On January 5, 2012, DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) provided supplemental
technical information in the above referenced proceeding with respect to the approximate amount
of residual helium and xenon gas that cannot be vented at the end of operational life of the
DIRECTV 4S spacecraft. Unfortunately, the mass figure provided for the helium tanks was
erroneous. In addition, the data previously reported assumed a worst-case scenario under which
the XIPS propulsion system did not further deplete the supply of xenon. The chart below
provides the correct information for helium and adjusted figures for xenon assuming the XIPS
system continues to function through the satellite’s end of life.

TANK VOLUME (M3) PRESSURE (KPA) TEMP. (° C) MASS (KG)

      HE1 0.0427 1671.4 20 0.1149

      HE2 0.0427 1671.4 20 0.1150

      XE1 0.0327 206 20 0.3900

      XE2 0.0327 206 20 0.3900

                                            Respectfully submitted,

                                             /s/
