Re: Inclined Orbit of AMC-5 (Call Sign S2156)

Dear Ms. Dortch:

SES Americom, Inc., (“SES Americom,” doing business as “SES WORLD SKIES”),1 by its attorneys
and pursuant to Section 25.280(a) of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 25.280(a), hereby advises
the Commission that its AMC-5 spacecraft is now in inclined orbit at the 78.95° W.L. orbital location.

Inclined orbit operation commenced on June 13, 2010, with an initial inclination of 0.05 degrees.
SES WORLD SKIES projects that the inclination will change at a rate of 0.8 degrees per year. SES
WORLD SKIES has requested Commission authority to relocate AMC-5 to 79.05° W.L. upon arrival
of the AMC-2 spacecraft at the nominal 79° W.L. orbital location in early July.2 The expected end-of-
life of AMC-5 at 79.05° W.L. accounting for its inclined orbit is October 2011.

Please address any questions regarding this matter to the undersigned.

Respectfully submitted,

/s/ Karis A. Hastings

On September 7, 2009, SES S.A. announced that the newly integrated operations of its two
indirect subsidiaries, New Skies Satellites B.V. and SES Americom would be conducted under a
single brand name, SES WORLD SKIES. The new brand name does not affect the underlying
legal entities that hold Commission authorizations or U.S. market access rights.
