    1. Intelsat North America LLC’s (“Int lsat”) request, File No. SAT-MOD-
        20040727-001481 (Call Sign, S2160 , for a six-month extension of the launch
        milestone date for the INTELSAT MERICAS (“IA-8”) satellite, formerly
        known as Telestar-8,2 IS GRANTE . Accordingly, we extend the launch
        milestone date for the IA-8 satellite rom September 30, 2004 until March 30,
        2005. The conditions contained in t e IA-8 authorization otherwise remain
        unchanged. Failure to meet the Mar h 30,2005 launch milestone date shall

             The Commission originally authorized Lor 1 SpaceCom Corporation (“Loral”) to launch and
operate the former Telstar-8 satellite. See Loral Space & Communications Ltd., Memorandum Opinion and
Order, 11 1 FCC Rcd 20441 (Int’l Bur. 1996). In Octo er 2003, the International Bureau issued an order
granting Loral extensions of both the construction and ilestone dates for the satellite. Loral SpaceCom
Corporation, Debtor-in-Possession, Application for M dification of Fixed Satellite Service Space Station
Authorization TelStar-8, Request for Extension of Mil stones and Waiver or Petition for Reconsideration,
File Nos. SAT-MOD-19991102-00106and SAT-MOD 0030507-00097, Memorandum Opinion and Order,
18 FCC Rcd 2 185 1 (Int’l Bur. 2003) (“2003 Extension Order”). In the 2003 Extension Order, the launch
milestone date was extended to September 30,2004. Zy. In March 2004, Intelsat acquired the Telstar 8
