(“DIRECTV Group”) (formerly, Hughes Electronics Corporation3) from General Motors Corporation to The News Corporation Limited (“News C ~ r p . ” ) . ~ 47 C.F.R. Q 1.65. General Motors Corp., Hughes Electronics Corp., and The News Corp. Ltd., Supplemental Order, 19 FCC Rcd. 6309 (Int’l Bur. 2004). On March 16,2004, Hughes Electronics Corporation changed its name to The DIRECTV Group, Inc. See Letter from William M. Wiltshire and Michael D. Nilsson, Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP, Counsel for The DIRECTV Group, Inc., to Marlene H. Dortch, Secretary, Federal Communications Commission (Mar. 16, 2004). See Letter from William M. Wiltshire and Michael D. Nilsson, Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP, Counsel for News Corp., to Marlene H. Dortch, Secretary, Federal Communications Commission (Dec. 23,2003). The Commission has found that News Corp. has a defacto controlling interest over DIRECTV Group and its subsidiaries, including DIRECTV Enterprises, for purposes of the Communications Act of 1934. General Motors Corp., Hughes Electronics Corp., and The News Corp.
