The undersigned, without Ms. Warren, held a previous telephone conversation with Dan Harrold, Office of General Counsel, regarding the same issues. Lockheed Martin urged the Commission to act on the STA extension request as expeditiously as possible, consistent with the Commission‘s authority under the Communications Act, and for the reasons provided in Intelsat‘s pending request. In particular, delay in action ereates an unnecessary scenario in which Intelsat customers would be compelled to terminate Intelsat—based service — o the detriment of end—user consumers — well in advance ofthe September 13, 2004 STA expization date.
