FCC 312 Question 43 REGARDING THE SUBJECT APPLICATION This application for modification of space station authority is hereby amended to change the applicant from PanAmSat Corporation ("PanAmSat Corp.") to PanAmSat Corp.'s indirect subsidiary, PanAmSat Licensee Corp. ("PanAmSat LC"). For a variety of business reasons, PanAmSat Corp. decided to consolidate its corporate family's fixed-satellite service ("FSS) licenses, some of which it has held and some of which PanAmSat LC has held, under the PanAmSat LC umbrella. On February 4,2002, the Commission consented to the proforiizn assignment from PanAmSat Corp. to PanAmSat LC of all FSS space station licenses then held by PanAmSat Corp. (see SAT- ASG-20011206-00120 and SAT-ASG-20011206-00121). Upon nobfication of consummation, filed on February 14,2002, these assignments became effective. Consistent with the ownership changes that the Commission has consented to and PanAmSat Corp.'s desire to consolidate its space station licenses, the subject application is hereby amended to substitute PanAmSat LC for PanAmSat Corp. as the applicant. PanAmSat does not contemplate by this amendment any changes in the operational or technical characteristics of the proposed satellite.
