("ATMC" or "Applicant"), hereby requests authority, pursuant to Section 214 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C . Section 214 (1982), and Section 63.18 of the Commussion‘s Rules, 47 C.F.R. Section 63.18, to provide giégal international resale services between the United States and international points. ATMC, Inc. is a U.S. company currently providing domestic long distance and operator— assisted telecommunications service and now desires to expand its operations to include the provision of international telecommunications services. ATMC is obtaining the certification necessary to serve customers on an intrastate basis in several states. By granting this application, the Commission will serve the public interest, convenience and necessity by promoting competition in the international services market. Competition will benefit U.S. consumers by increasing service options and lowering prices. Thus, the public interest will be serviced by the grant of Section 214 authority to ATMC.
