#0 00 29 July 2016 Federal Communications Commission Equipment Authorization Branch 7435 Oakland Mills Road Columbia, MD 21046 Subject: Professional Installation To whom it may concern: The 4RF Aprisa SRi is a point—to—multipoint digital radio providing secure narrowband wireless data connectivity for SCADA, infrastructure and telemetry applications. The radios carry a combinationof serial packet data and Ethernet data between the base station, repeater stations and remote stations. We market the product in the industrial sector during trade shows and public tenders. It is targeted at the following industry groups including: Oil Gas and Mining Utility Public Safety and Military Transport Enterprise and Government Telecom Operators The product is not sold to the general public in retail shops, or by mail order. To install and use the product, it requires qualified installers with training and technical knowledge such as path planning, licensing and regulatory requirements. Often it is professional installers or dealers who install the product, but sometimes the end customer have their own RF engineering team who does the RF path planning such as antenna type, gain, height etc. We, as the manufacturer, also provide professional RF engineering services to dealers and customers as an option. In addition, the equipment is installed at restricted access locations for security and to prevent public access. We make a request to FCC to consider the device as a professionally installed device.
