1. SCOPE
This document describe the differences and similarities between the new product Nera WorldPro 1010
(107730) and the already certified product Nera WorldPro 1000 (107020).

Nera WorldPro 1000 is already CE-marked and FCC/IC qualified with the following ID codes.

FCC ID: TSF 107020
IC: 6200A-107020

2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Nera WorldPro 1000 / 1010, type 107020 / 107730 are both A5 sized portable terminals for use in Inmarsat’s
4th-generation satellite system (BGAN). Both the antenna and battery are to form integrated parts of the
terminal. The terminal consists of two main parts, Interface Unit and Antenna Unit. Mounted
together, the units will operate as one complete terminal (”all in one”), but these two parts can also be
operated separately with a cable between (“split mode”).

2.1 Description of modifications on the new model

The antenna part for the new WorldPro 1010 contains the satellite radio part, the GPS receiver and antennas,
and are identical to the antenna part for WorldPro 1000. The interface part for WorldPro 1010 has following
differences from the interface part for WorldPro 1000.

    • Due to a request of better coverage for the Bluetooth interface, the TX output has been increased
with 10 dB, from 0 dBm to +10dBm. Bluetooth class has therefore changed from class 2 to class1.
The same chipset SiW 3000 from RFMD is prepared for this solution and adding a amplifier and
a switch is all we had to change in addition to new software.

    • Requests from many of our customers were the reason to make a new model with Ethernet interface
instead of USB interface. The USB interface is still active for test purposes and is available trough
the ISDN connector via a “dongle”. No mechanical modifications are done to the mechanics.

3. PART 25 STATEMENT

The Satellite Radio part with GPS and antennas are identical for both WorldPro 1000 and WorldPro 1010,
and therefore we have concluded with the fact that FCC part 25 tests performed on the Nera WorldPro 1000
can be used for the Nera WorldPro 1010.
Since the Bluetooth Radio specification has been changed, we have decided to perform a complete FCC part
15 test on the Nera WorldPro 1010.
To ensure that we still comply with the European R&TTE directive, we have performed following tests
according to following EU standards.
    • ETSI EN 300 328 V1.5.1
    • ETSI EN 301 489-17 V1.2.1
