October 14, 2010 Lee Littlejohn Regulatory Engineer Itron, Inc. 313 North Highway 11 West Union, South Carolina 29696 Dear Lee: This note serves as an additional agreement between Itron and Landis+Gyr stating that Landis+Gyr will use the Itron M2 Gateway module (Figure 1) in accordance with the FCC rules on limited modular approval devices. The unit will be professionally installed inside various Landis+Gyr Focus electric meter forms (Figure 2). In addition, the meter label will be modified to contain the FCC and IC IDs of the M2 Gateway. Confidentiality of the Internal Photos is requested because this is a non-consumer device which is not accessible by the general public, will be professionally installed, and is only serviceable by the Itron, Landis+Gyr, or designated technicians. Confidentiality of the technical manual is also being requested due to the technical nature of the manual and concerns regarding security of Smart Grid devices. The manual is not provided to the general public because the general public cannot service the device. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
