Dear Application Examiner:

On behalf of Tripod Data Systems, Northwest EMC Inc is submitting this application for
limited modular approval of the USI WM-G-MR-05 WiFi radio in Tripod’s host PDA,
M/N: Nomad. Please note, the Nomad host PDA is referred to as the Eagle through out
the test report data. Eagle is Tripod’s internal name for the device; Nomad is the
marketing name. The FCC ID of the WiFi radio is S9E-NOMADWF.

The WiFi radio will be operated in 802.11(b)/(g) mode only in the 2400-2483.5MHz
band. Please note, the operational description for the 802.11 radio refers to 802.11(b),
(g), and (a) mode. Tripod Data Systems will only be using 802.11(b)/(g) capability.

The radio will be co-located with a Bluetooth radio module, FCC ID: S9E-NOMADBT.
MPE estimates for the co-located radios are provided with this application. The radios
are housed in a ruggedized, waterproof host computer. The host PDA can operate off of
battery power or while charging, indirectly connected to the AC Mains.

The radio utilizes a single integral chip antenna. This configuration satisfies the
requirements of 47 CFR 15.203.

The technical reports and exhibits demonstrate compliance with FCC rules 47 CFR
15.247 as a DTS transmitter.
