7) Please provide a technical description of operation/function of the FM coupler. Please upload this
information as a separate exhibit (operational description) to ensure proper treatment of
     confidentiality.
A7) The Sure Connect FM Coupler is designed to deliver the FM modulated signal from the XM
Radio receiver to the vehicle FM radio by means of capacitive coupling. The Sure Connect clips
to the vehicle‘s whip antenna, or in the case of an in—glass FM antenna, to an adhesive backed
clip that is situated on the glass in close proximity to the vehicle‘s FM antenna. The FM power
level is set such that radiation from the shielded cable is minimal and within FCC limits, yet the
power available through the coupler is sufficient to provide good reception of the FM modulator
signal. There is no need for confidentiality of this description since FM couplers are currently on
the market. The FCC has previously certified numerous XM devices using the SureConnect FM
coupler (such as in the Audiovox XPress (FCC Identifier BGA—XMXPO3, granted August 25,
2006) and the Delphi Roady XT (FCC Identifier RS2SA101778, granted August 25, 2006).
