Test software installation
Copy file "test utility.zip" on your PC and extract (unzip) it;

Turn-on procedure
Set your DC power supply at 3.8Volt;
Connect the GSM module to your Power Supply with high section cables as the peak power during
transmission is higher then 1Amp and automatic switch off is triggered below 3.4Volt;
Connect, by data cable, your PC COM1 to the GSM module serial port;
Run RTD.EXE file;
In RTD window, in File/Setup/Link, check COM selection. Default COM1
Switch-on the GSM module pressing the dark button marked “on” on the evaluation board for 1
second.

Turn-off procedure
Switch-off the GSM module pressing the dark button marked “on” on the evaluation board for 1
second.

Setting modes of operation
Idle mode operation is automatically entered at switch on, dedicated (continuous transmit) mode is
set up using the test utility.

Monitoring EUT operation
LED in test fixture indicating that the EUT is correctly powered and the equipment is looking for a
network.

Place into continuous mode of transmit and actual worst case duty cycles
In lower-left quadrant of the test utility, the CT Window, right-click mouse and choose the
appropriate continuous tx mode.
Low, middle and high frequency are provided for both bands (850 and 1900). In all cases the signal
is transmitted at the maximum output power (33 dBm nominal for 850MHz and 30 dBm nominal for
1900MHz).

Place into idle mode or receive mode (for transceivers)
After turn-on the EUT is in idle mode and looking for a network.

Adjust unit to low, middle and high channels
Select the appropriate continuous tx mode with the test utility.

Adjust unit to highest output power
All continuous tx mode activated with the test utility are at maximum output power.

spreading code
