NORTHWEST EMC, INC. 22975 NW Evergreen Parkway, Suite 400 Hillsboro, OR 97124 June 15, 2005 Dear Application Examiner: On behalf of Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), Northwest EMC, Inc. is submitting this application for the certification of SEL’s Model SEL-3022 transmitter, FCC ID: R34SEL3X22. It is a spread spectrum transmitter that utilizes direct sequence modulation techniques. This transmitter is compliant with IEEE 802.11b specifications, and will be used only as a mobile transmitter. The SEL-3022 is an EIA-232 to IEEE 802.11b, or WiFi, encryption device that adds strong encryption and authentication features to the data sent across wireless ports. The EUT can be configured with either one of two different antennas. The antenna connector is a reverse polarity SMA connector that satisfies the requirements of 47 CFR 15.203.
