RE: FCC ID: Q9R-5100
Attention: Arnie Rowe

I have a few comments on this Application.
1. Please clearly identify the rf transmitter section on the photos. The photos are not clear enough to
make a sure determination of the rf circuitry. -
2. Please provide a block diagram of the transmitter section. The block diagram of the system is
inconclusive in evaluation of the intentional radiator. -
3. Please verify if the sole purpose of the intentional radiator portion of this device is to read/recognize
    RFID tags. -
4. The documentation states that the device senses the hand piece to determine if it supports cutter
recognition. It then states that the RFID section searches for a tag. It appears that the ‘tag’ is
located in the ‘cutter’ which is inserted into the hand piece. And that the RFID transceiver
recognizes the particular cutter tag. Is this correct? -
5. Please note that the test method on page 25 of the report states a conducted range of 450kHz to
309 MHz was done. The plots however, show testing from 150kHz to 30MHz. Please change the
test measurement note on page 25 to reflect the actual frequencies tested. -
6. Please note that in the measurement result tables for conducted emissions, you have a column
labeled “transd dB”. However, this factor does not appear to have been included in the results.
Please explain what this column represents and why it was not included. Is it to be added or
    subtracted to the reading? -
7. Please note that many of the frequency ranges listed in your table of equipment are incorrect (see
pages 22 and 23 of the report). For example you state that the LISNs used are from 10MHz to
30MHz, the loop frequency range also appears incorrect. Please correct the frequency ranges
listed to reflect the actual range of the test equipment used. -
8. Please clearly identify the antenna in the schematics. -
9. FYI – no action needed. The non-modification statement does not have to be placed on the
product but only in the manual. While you may leave this statement on the product if you wish, it
does not need to be there. -
10. Please note that the manual does not appear to contain the 15.105 statements concerning
interference. Please include this required statement in the manual -
