Report No.: ZR/2018/A001106 Page 6 of 31 2 SYSTEM TEST CONFIGURATION 2.1 EUT Configuration The EUT configuration for testing is installed on RF field strength measurement to meet the Commissions requirement and operating in a manner which intends to maximize its emission characteristics in a contin- uous normal application. 2.2 EUT Exercise An engineering test mode (software/firmware) that applicant provided was utilized to manipulate the EUT into transmit, selection of the test channel, and modulation scheme. 2.3 Test Procedure 2.3.1 Radiated Emissions The EUT is a placed on a turn table. For emissions testing at or below 1 GHz, the table height shall be 0.8 m above the reference ground plane. For emission measurements above 1 GHz, the table height shall be 1.5 m. The turn table shall rotate 360 degrees to determine the position of maximum emission level. EUT is set 3m away from the receiving antenna which varied from 1m to 4m to find out the highest emission. And also, each emission was to be maximized by changing the polarization of receiving antenna both horizontal and vertical. In order to find out the max. emission, the relative positions of this transmitter (EUT) was rotated through three orthogonal axes and measurement procedures for electric field radiated emis- sions above 1 GHz the EUT measurement is to be made “while keeping the antenna in the ‘cone of radia- tion’ from that area and pointed at the area both in azimuth and elevation, with polarization oriented for maximum response.” is still within the 3dB illumination BW of the measurement antenna. The test-receiver system was set to quasi-peak detect function and specified bandwidth with maximum hold mode when the test frequency is below 1 GHz. 10. Maximum procedure was performed on the six highest emissions to ensure EUT compliance. 11. And also, each emission was to be maximized by changing the polarization of receiving antenna both hor- izontal and vertical. The EUT was placed on the top of a rotating table 0.8 meters above the ground for below 1GHz at a 3 or 10m meter semi-anechoic chamber. The table was rotated 360 degrees to determine the po- sition of the highest radiation. b. The EUT was set 3 or 10m meters away from the interference-receiving antenna, which was mounted on the top of a variable-height antenna tower. c. The antenna height is varied from one meter to four meters above the ground to determine the maximum value of the field strength. Both horizontal and vertical polarizations of the antenna are set to make the measurement. d. For each suspected emission, the EUT was arranged to its worst case and then the antenna was tuned to heights from 1 meter to 4 meters (for the test frequency of below 30MHz, the antenna was tuned to heights 1 meter) and the rotatable table was turned from 0 degrees to 360 degrees to find the maximum reading. e. The test-receiver system was set to Peak Detect Function and Specified Bandwidth with Maximum Hold Mode. f. If the emission level of the EUT in peak mode was 10dB lower than the limit specified, then testing could be stopped and the peak values of the EUT would be reported. Otherwise the emissions that did not have 10dB margin would be re-tested one by one using peak, quasi-peak or average method as specified and then reported in a data sheet. g. The radiation measurements are performed in X, Y, Z axis positioning. And found the X axis posi- tioning which it is worse case, only the test worst case mode is recorded in the report. Remark: Level= Read Level+ Cable Loss+ Antenna Factor- Preamp Factor h. According to KDB 414788, we have a site validation between OATS and Semi Chamber for radiated emission measurements below 30 MHz, and the result of Chamber measured is worst case result.
