RF SAFETY ISSUES
In regards to your recent TCB grant referenced above we kindly request that you provide the following
additional information.

1) Provide full detail and strong justification for power scaling of the 1900 GSM SAR results. It appears
that 15% scaling was performed.
Supplement C only recommends a maximum of 5% scaling. As appropriate please provide new SAR
data at maximum power.

At 1900 GSM, SAR results were scaled by more than 5%. However, looking at the measured data,
the SAR level for the 1900 GSM is considerably lower compared to the 1900 TDMA SAR results.
Taking this into account, we do not consider it necessary to repeat the measurements.
If necessary, we can modify the SAR report to eliminate the column containing the scaled
numbers for 1900 GSM.

2) SAR summary tables in the SAR report suggests device can tune to the band edges. Please confirm
the maximum tune range of the device. Please confirm the actual tune frequencies used for the SAR
tests.

The actual tuned frequencies used for SAR tests are listed in the report. The handset was tested
at the high, middle, and low frequency channels in each transmission mode.

3) Additional descriptive information of the SAR measurement system to meet Supplement C Appendix
B part II recommendations. Please includes details of the PHANTOM, E-field probe, scan procedures,
calculations, Robot and computer.

This information is provided in a separate document (SAR Measurement Specification of
Wireless Handsets). This document is attached for reference.

4) New SAR plots including ambient and liquid temperatures.

The temperatures of the simulating liquids are provided in the SAR report. We are not aware it is
a requirement to include the temperatures on the plots.
