AirUnity 587 (B41HL) BH (B41HL_B25) tune up procedure

Each AirUnity radio has been tested by an automatic testing station (which is calibrated weekly for
accuracy), which calibrates the unit prior to testing. Each AirUnity contains 4 transmitters therefore
each in turn is calibrated by the station for RF output power accuracy. The calibration is then
verified by transmitting on the RF output power approved for each frequency checking that it does
not exceed the maximum allowed by the FCC. For each frequency there is an internal software limit
value that prevents the User from exceeding that RF output power setting. In the event the RF
output power is higher then specified in the System Description, the AirUnity radio doesn’t pass
and acquires a Fail status.
AirUnity boards with Fail statuses are rejected for final assembly of the product. The NMS
management program also has internal specific FCC output limits that further checks and verifies
maximum RF power output and prevents transmition above the FCC limits.
