                           Modular Approval Request Letter

Dear Application Examiner,



Sierra Wireless’s MC8795V is a UMTS/GSM/GPRS module, FCC ID: N7NMC8795

Would like to have your authorization as modular approval specific to the
UMTS/GSM/GPRS etc,, The requirement of Public Notice DA00-1407 have been met and
shown on the following statements.

   1. “ The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding.” The radio portion of this
      module has been shielded, please see Exhibition Photo.

   2. “The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs.” The EUT
      has buffered data inputs; it is integrated in chip MSM6290.



   3. “The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation.” The power
      management PM6653 chip controls the power up, power down and power
      transitions of other devices associated to a specific functionality. The RF
      converter embedded inside chip MSM6290 will influence the frequency radiation
      and hence have to be powered by PM6653 with a voltage of 3.3V.


    . "The modular fransmitler must be tested in a stand—aloneconfiguration." The EUT
      was placed on a Development Started board as a stand—alone configuration.
      Please refer to Test Result of made in the test report.

      "The modular fransmitter must be labeled with its own CC ID number." Please
      see exhibiion Label Sample for the FCC ID of this madule. And also in the User
      Manual

    . ‘The modular fransmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating
      requirements applicable to the fransmifer and the manufacturer must provide
      adequate insructions along with the module to explain any such requirements."
      The EUT is complance with ol applicable FCC rules. Defail instructions for
      maintcining complance ore given in the Users Manual.

    . "The. modular fransmitier must comply with any opplicable RF exposure
      requirements." The EUTs complant with all applicable RF exposure requrements.
      RF Exposure is addressed in the RF exposure exhibition
