STATEMENT CONCERNING COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 90.203(J)(5)

Introduction

Section 90.203 (j)(5) of the Commission’s Rules on transmitters provides, in pertinent part: If the
equipment [421-512 MHz bands] is capable of transmitting data and has an overall bandwidth of 6.25
kHz or more, the equipment must be capable of supporting a minimum data rate of 4800 bits per second
per 6.25 kHz of bandwidth.

Justification

The model 2017-022 radio transceiver submitted is used as a part of a utility meter reading system. The
2017-022 transmitter sends data with a 2GFSK modulation at a rate of 7232 bps. The emissions
designator is 9K66F1D.

As the 2017-022 does transmit at 7232 bps with a bandwidth of 7.4 kHz, it is capable of supporting a
minimum data rate of 4800 bits per second per 6.25 kHz of bandwidth.
