Assemble Collar
  To assemble the collar, first measure your pet‘s neck, mark the
dppropriate length, and cut off any excess material. Seal the edge of
the cut by taking a match or lighter and melt the frayed edge.

Note: When cutting off the excess collar, be sure to leave
enough slack for your dog‘s growth.

    When threading your collar through the clasp, loop it through
 the clasp exactly as illustrated, Pull on the excess collar. If it slides
 at all, it was not threaded correctly.

    If your dog has long or thick hair, the longer probes might be
 moreeffective in delivering the stimulation to your dog.If your
 dog still has trouble feeling the stimulation even with the longer
 probes, the dog‘s hair, in the neck area, will need to be trimmed.


 Installing The Batteries in the Transmitter
    The transmitter takes one (1) 9—Volt Alkaline battery
 To install the battery, follow the instructions listed below:
 (refer to figure 1)


    M Place your finger on top of the "Pull" area of
      the battery door,located on the backside of the
      transmitter.
    M Remove the battery door by lifting up.
    m Connect the battery and replace the battery door
      by placing the bottom side of the battery door
       in first.
    m To test the battery, press any transmitter button.
      The light will glow red. If the light does notglow or
       glows dimly, replacethe battery.
    M You can expect a fresh battery to last about 2
      months with average use.

Installing The Batteries in the Receiver
  The receiver takes two (2) 3—Volt Lithium batteries (Model 2032)
To install, follow the instructions listed below:




   Positive "       is up.

    M With a Philips screwdriver, remove the two screws located
      on top of the receiver.

    M Remove the battery door by sliding the door up in
        the direction of the arrows before slidingthe door out.
        Insert the two batteries into the batterydoor as shown
        in the drawing above.

    M Insert the battery door with the batteries in place by
      pushing the door in and then sliding it down in the
      opposite direction of the arrows. Secure it with the
        two screws. Be sure to tighten thescrews without over
        tightening.


Turning the Deluxe Remote Trainer On/Off
  To turn thereceiver on, place the white dot on the transmitter
against the white dot of the receiver, hold them together for three
(3) seconds, and separate. Upon separating, the receiver will emit
one short beep.
Note: If receiver does not beep, the batteries need replaced
or they were not placed correctly in the receiver. (Refer to
page 6). You can expect a fresh battery to last about
1 month with average use.

Note: Once the receiver has been activated, the receiver
must be manually turned off by following the instructions
shown below.
  To turn the receiver off, place the white dot on the transmitter
against the white dot of the receiver, hold them together for three
(3) seconds, and separate. Upon separating, the receiver will emit a
long beep indicating the unit has been turned off.
  Refer to the pictures below for the location of the white dots for
both the transmitter and receiver.

Turning the Deluxe Remote Trainer On/Off
Using the Magnetic Keychain

   To turn the receiver on, place the magnetic keychain next to
the white dot of the receiver unit, hold them together for three (3)
seconds, and separate. Upon separating, the receiver will emit one
short beep.
Note: Once the receiver has been activated, the receiver must be
manually turned off by following the instructions shown below.

   To turn the receiver off, place the magnetic keychain next to
the white dot of the receiver unit, hold themtogether for three (3)
seconds, and separate. Uponseparating, the receiver will emit a long
beep indicating the unit has been turned off.

    Please refer to the pictures below for the proper connection
of the magnetic keychain to the receiver.

 Setting the Stimulation Level and Using
 Your Trainer
 * To set the stimulation level, first turn on the receiver. (Refer to page
 7 or 8.) Next, hold down the "Program" button. After a fewseconds,
 the receiver will indicate the present stimulationlevel by beeping
 one—to—eight times (the receiver is preset at level 1). For instance, for
 level 1 (the lowest stimulation level) the receiver will beep once. For
 level 8 (the highest stimulation level) the receiver will beep eight times.

     Continue to hold the "Programn"button down until the number of
 beeps equals the level of stimulation you want. After level 8, the receiver
 will go back to level 1.
   The receiver memorywill hold the set level whether the unit has
 been turned off or when the batteries arebeing replaced

    Once you have set the receiver to the desired stimulation level,
 you are ready to begin training.

        Press the "3" + #(C           button to give your dog a stimulation
     along with a warning tone.

        Onceyour dog startsto associate the wamning tone with the
                                                                  stimulation,
     you can press the " *(Z " button to warn your dog that
                                                              if the behavior
     does not change, he will receive a stimulation. The
                                                         tone, from
     pressing this button, is exactly the same tone as pressi
                                                             ng the
     "Stimulation w/Tone" button.

        Note: Before you begin training with your new
                                                         remote
     tainer, watch the training video, and read the traini
                                                          ng manua           l in
     its entirety.
       Note: You can expect your deluxe trainer to
                                                   operate within
     a range of approximately 300 ft. Actual range may
                                                               vary due to
     obsta}cll_:s, terrain, weather, etc. For best result
                                                          s your pet should
     be within voice range to associate your commands
                                                               with praise
     or stimulation.


     Placing the Collar on Your Pet
     Place receiver collar on your dog with the receiv
                                                        er hanging directly
  beneath your dog‘s neck. Adjust the collar secure
                                                       ly so that the
  propes touch the skin of your dog‘s neck. Make sure
                                                          the collar is not
  so tight as to cause discomfort. When the collar is proper
                                                             ly adjusted,
  you should be able to place one finger betweenthe probes and
                                                               the
  dog‘s skin.

     Caution: Do not leave collar on too tight. Doing so
  can cause Pressure Necrosis, a condition that result
                                                       s
  in skin deterioration.

   Check your pet‘s collar regularly. Remove the collar weekly and
wash your dog‘s neck and probes with mild soap (approved by a
veterinarian). Ifa rash or sores form, take the collar off for a few days.
When replacing it, make sure that it is not too tight.
 Maintenance
      Check batteries (weekly)

 M Clean probes and dog‘s neck with veterinarian approved
   soap and warm water (weekly).

 M    The batteries will last up to 30 days depending on the
      frequency ofuse.

  NOTE: This equipment has been tested andfound to comply with
  the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the
  FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection
  against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a
  residential environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate
  radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance
  with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio
  communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will
  not occur in a practical installation. If this equipment does cause harmful
  interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by
  turning the equipment off and on, theuser is encouraged to try to correct
  the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  Unauthorized changes or modifications to the equipment, not approved
  by PetSafe, could result in not meeting compliance with FCC regulations
  and could void the user‘s authority to operate the equipment
