No.: 8099 Dear Katie: On behalf of Itronix Corporation is our response to your e-mail dated April 30, 2003 requesting additional information for the subject application. 1. The back of the LCD display in the closed position was originally tested with 0 cm gap from the flat phantom surface and the results were close to the 1.6 W/kg limit. The 1.5 cm spacing was determined based on the recommended guidelines for body SAR separation distance specified in Supplement C (Edition 01-01) “Recommended Test Positions for Body Configurations.” The lid-closed position is not a normal or typical operating configuration, and therefore the 1.5 cm spacing based on Supplement C guidelines was considered appropriate.
