 14. CONFIGURATION SETUP
14.1 DISPLAY MODE
The display screen can be set for day time or night time operating.

14.2 DIMMER ADJUSTMENT
This menu selection adjusts the backlight intensity.

14.3 LAMP

The display contrast can be adjusted to suit your operation environment.

14.5 KEY BEEP
Use this selection to adjust the beep tone volume level when a key is pressed.

14.6 BATTERY SAVER
This function allows changing change the battery save mode setting.

Use this selection to set the emergency strobe LED operation.

14.8 SOFT KEYS
Use this menu to make soft key assignments and to set how long the display
will show the soft key icon after a soft key is pressed.
14.8.1 Key Assignment

   keys. Choose from the 12 functions that may
   be assigned.

      WX/CH      Switches channels between weather and marine.
     TX/PWR      Changes transmit power.
      SCAN       Turns scanning function ON or OFF.
   DUAL WATCH    Turns dual or triple watch scan function ON or OFF.
    WPT MARK     Marks the current position for a “Waypoint”.
    COMPASS      Enables the “Compass” display.
       NAVI      Enables the “Waypoint” or “Route” navigation display.
    WAYPOINT     Enables the Waypoint Navigation.
       MOB       Marks the position where a person falls overboard.
  SCAN MEMORY    Add or remove channels from memory channel scan.
     PRESET      Programs or deletes the preset memory channel.
    CH NAME      Edit channel names.
     STROBE      Turns the strobe light LED ON or OFF.
    CH NAME      Edit channel names.
     LOGGER      Starts and stops logging position data.
  NOISE CANCEL   Enables the noise canceling settings display.
    FM RADIO     Starts the FM Broadcast radio receiver.
     BACKLID     Enables the Display Mode.

 15. CHANNEL FUNCTION SETUP
15.1 CHANNEL GROUP
This menu item permits setting the channel group to USA, International or
Canada maritime channel group assignments.
Refer to section “9.6 SELECTING THE CHANNEL GROUP” for details.

15.2 WEATHER ALERT (in USA and Canada only)
Enables/disables the NOAA Weather Alert function. The default setting is “ON”.

15.3 SCAN MEMORY
To be able to scan channels, the radio must be programmed. This section
describes how to store channels in scan memory.
Refer to section “9.9.2 Programming Scan Memory” for details.

15.4 SCAN TYPE
Scanning may be set to either “Memory Scan” or “Priority Scan”. The default
setting is “Priority Scan”.
Refer to section “9.9.1 Selecting the Scan Type” for details.

15.5 SCAN RESUME
Selects the time that scanning is paused after a received signal ends before
the radio starts to scan channels again. The default setting is 2 seconds.
