M e t h od of M e a sur em e n t for Ra dia t e d Em ission s:
The t est procedure used for radiat ed em issions is described ANSI C63.4 using a
spect rum analyzer. The resolut ion bandw idt h used was 100 kHz wit h an appropr iat e
sweep speed. The analyzer was calibrat ed in dB above a m icrovolt at t he out put of
t he ant enna. All cable loss and ant enna fact ors were calibrat ed t o provide plot s w it h
correct ion fact ors applied t o result s using t he form ula and exam ple described
below. The video bandwidt h of t he analyzer was always great er t han or equal t o t he
resolut ion bandw idt h, and a peak det ect or wit h m ax hold was used

The unit under t est was placed on a t able 80 cm high and w it h dim ensions of 1m by
1.5m . The t able used for radiat ed m easurem ent s is capable of cont inuous rot at ion.
When an em ission was found, t he t able was rot at ed t o produce t he m axim um signal
st rengt h. At t his point , t he ant enna was raised and lowered fr om 1m t o 4m . The
ant enna was placed in bot h t he hor izont al and vert icals planes. The frequency was
scanned from 30 MHz t o 2.0 GHz... The EUT was m easured in t hree part s of t he
t unable band of EUT and ( 3) ort hogonal planes when necessary.

Ra dia t e d Em issions Te st Se t u p:
EUT set up and arrangem ent was com plet ed as described in ANSI C63.4.
Explorat ory m easurem ent s were t aken following different per ipheral placem ent and
cable m anipulat ions as described in ANSI C63.4. A phot o is provided of t he Test
set up t o record t he exact peripheral equipm ent and cable m anipulat ion
arrangem ent found t o produce t he highest possible level of radiat ed em issions.
