Subject: Regarding change of description for Model 65-VN663-P2, FCC ID: J9C-
EA544D2

We are requesting a change in description for the 65-VN663-P2 from the current description:
EA544D_2 ETHERNET ADAPTER-2.4 / 5 GHz AP APPS_DFS, to the revised description:
EA544D_2 ETHERNET ADAPTER-2.4 / 5 GHz APPS_DFS. We are requesting this change
because we have developed advanced software that provides for the device to boot in either AP
(master device) mode or STA (client/slave device) mode. Please be advised that when booting
into AP mode the 65-VN663-P2, will act as a Linux Master DFS device implementing IEEE
802.11n. As such, the 65-VN663-P2 Ethernet Adapter card for 2.4/5 GHz applications with DFS
support and the drivers which are distributed only in binary form by Qualcomm to authorized
ODMs/OEMs as well as distributed by Qualcomm with 65-VN663-P2 samples, have
EEPROM/OTP binaries that exclude the use of channels 120, 124, 128 in the FCC regulatory
domain and advise recipients that support of enabled channels 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 132, 136
are for indoor use only. Neither distributed binaries (drivers and EEPROM/OTP) provide for
end-user selection of country code.
Best Regards,
