CHAMBERL—AIN® #45 Larch Aavenue February 19, 2014 Eimhuzst, In 60126 Subject: Chanberlain/iftmaster Professional Installation Requirement To Whom It May Concern, T have provided below the justification for considering the CDO LS series of Commercial Door Operators as requiring professional installation, and therefore the use of standard antenna connector is acceptable under FCC regulations. Background our CDO (conmercial door operator) line is available with the standard external antenna connector, where the installer fits the supplied antenna, provided in our hardware bag, approved by the FCC for use with these products. The external antenna, through this standard conmector, provides us with the greatest range and performance. Justification our CDO line is sold exclusively through our controlled dealer metwork distribution channel. Chanberlain and LiftMaster {txadename) do not sell these products through any retail chain to the general public, not does it offer the product for sale by mail order. Requiring Professional Installation Chanberlain/LiftMaster states on the cover page of our Installation Manuals that only installation and service is to be done by trained professional installers/technicians. As stated above, the product is available only through our dealer distribution channels. The installation is essential to be completed by a trained professional to ensure the system will operate with the performance that is required.

Application The CDO LS line of products are not intended for use by the general public, the application is for conmercial/industrial use only, a typical example would installation on dock doors within a distribution trucking facility.
